The Mighty Creatives is working with the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) to deliver their Strategic Commissioning programme in the East Midlands and the East of England. This includes: -

  • Supporting delivery of the national education programmes in the regions - such as Campaign!, Science Network and Take One.
  • Supporting the delivery of the national Workforce Development programme - Learning Links, Initial Teacher Training and CPD. This includes supporting a pilot Cross-Cultural Learning Link project - Partnership Research Bursaries, promoting Learning Links and Initial Teacher Training opportunities, evaluation and sharing events.
  • CPD - Supporting and promoting the national CPD offer for museums and archives professionals and brokering 1 or 2 events regionally that reflect regional priorities.
  • Developing a regional youth engagement programme / framework that will explore ways in which the sector can develop and increase young people's participation in museums and archives
  • Piloting models of partnership aligning strategic commissioning with FYT and other work
  • Working with the national Strategic Commissioning programme manager to develop key advocacy messages from national programme for range of audiences

The MLA is a Non-Departmental Public Body (NDPB), sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). They were created in April 2000 as the strategic body working with and for the museums, archives and libraries sector.
