Be prepared to see Shakespeare understood and performed like you've never seen before, as the young people of Corby, Horncastle, Tamworth & Wolverhampton re-imagine his life and work on Sunday 23rd April.
Inspired by the life and work of William Shakespeare and performed on the day he was born and died, these Emerge Festivals are free to all and promise to be a fresh and vibrant reinterpretation of the Bard.
The Emerge Festival Programme is being delivered with investment from Spirit of 2012 and in collaboration with Arts Connect and UK Young Artists. This year the festivals have been directed by Jasmine Gardosi (Tamworth), Stuart Reid & Kirsty Mealing (Wolverhampton), Jessica Richards & Paul Rogers (Corby) and Sophie Watkinson (Horncastle). They have worked alongside local schools, colleges and cultural organisations and with over 130 young people to plan and develop these Emerge Festivals.
Details and links to each festival are below.
