Digital Tender Opportunity

Tender for digital work with The Mighty Creatives

Posted: December 5th, 2017

Opportunity to Develop a Digital Briefing Session

The Mighty Creatives (TMC) is part of a national network of 10 bridge organisations, funded by Arts Council England to use our experience and expertise to connect children and young people, schools and communities with arts and culture. We share Arts Council England’s belief that every child and young person should have access to great arts, culture and education. To make sure that this happens the cultural and education sectors must collaborate and connect. We serve as this bridge.

Wider social inequality is reflected and sometimes amplified for children and young people in their access to an inspiring cultural education. So, The Mighty Creatives work with education providers and cultural organisations to support and develop ways of tackling this inequality of access, such as using tools like Artsmark and Arts Award.

Artsmark has been designed by schools, for schools, to align with School Improvement Plans and support core EBACC and STE(A)M priorities, giving the curriculum breadth and balance. As well as recognising schools that are making the arts come alive, the Artsmark award is a practical and valuable tool for enriching a school’s arts provision whatever the starting point.

Arts Award is a unique series of qualifications that support young people to develop as artists and arts leaders.Open to anyone aged 5 to 25, Arts Award embraces all interests and backgrounds. Through working towards an award young people learn to work independently, helping them to prepare for further education and employment.

Tender Opportunity

Part of our role as a Bridge organisation is to promote Artsmark and Arts Award to schools throughout the East Midlands, and advocate for the benefits that these tools can have on cultural education, school improvement and wider attainment for children and young people. As part of our digital strategy, we aim to develop online tools and products that can help achieve this aim.

We are therefore seeking an organisation or individual that can work with us to develop a digital product that can serve as a means to provide schools with key information about Artsmark and Arts Award, inspiring them to take up these tools, and signposting them to next-steps on their journey.

We envisage this product will take the form of a short film or animation, however are open and keen to explore other possibilities such as the use of webinars, particularly if this enables interaction between delegate and TMC so that schools are able to ask further questions.

We require a product that is informative, engaging, and reflective of TMC’s brand values. It must also meet the needs of the target audience (namely teachers from Primary, Secondary, Further Education, SEN Schools and Alternative Provision, and more broadly the arts and cultural sector), for example by being easily viewed through mobile devices, putting across salient points in a clear and effective way, whilst being short and easy to absorb. Our over-arching aim is to encourage further engagement with Artsmark and Arts Award, and in particular for schools to register with Artsmark and begin working towards the award.

Specific outputs for this work are:

  • Submission of an initial proposal to be agreed by TMC
  • Development of specific content in partnership with TMC.This will be informed by TMC and is likely to involve the following learning outcomes; an overview of Artsmark and Arts Award, their benefits to schools and young people, how they work, feedback/endorsement from schools, and call to action/next steps
  • Production of product
  • Review and refine product following trial and feedback from a select group of schools
  • Finalised product to be ready for public release by April 2018
  • Final evaluation and feedback meeting with TMC

The maximum fee for this contract will be £3,000 including all expenses and VAT.

TMC is seeking to work with organisations or individuals that:

  • Have demonstrable experience in the development of film and media, digital products or webinars
  • Have an awareness of cultural education within schools, and in particular Artsmark and Arts Award
  • Are able to work in partnership with TMC to develop specific content
