Nick Owen

Nick has been CEO of The Mighty Creatives since 2016 and has worked in the arts and cultural since 1981. He is a vastly experienced practitioner in community arts and education as an artistic director and producer, corporate lead, consultant and chair. He is an expert fundraiser, keynote speaker, international collaborator and facilitator.

Awarded an MBE for services to arts based businesses in 2012 and an Honorary Fellow at the Universities of Hull and Tasmania, Nick is passionate about generating culturally inspiring and socially engaging creative practice within educational contexts both nationally and internationally. He was appointed as one of the first Academic Heads of Department at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (Head of Community Arts). Eight years later he established the Aspire Trust, the Merseyside based international arts education business.

His international work includes being has been particularly inspired by international collaborations with partners in Australia, Bulgaria, Chile, India, Lithuania, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Portugal, Serbia and South Africa.

Recently, he’s been working in Nottingham as Development Manager for the Creative Quarter; as well as working in Cumbria for the arts research company, Art Gene: but is now delighted to be leading The Mighty Creatives.
