How we deliver change is as important as what change we deliver.
The Mighty Creatives promotes, secures and designs high quality change which has children and young people's creative voice at its heart. We apply tools, methods and networks that can secure change at scale, change which can be evaluated. Here are some examples of our work .
This offers young people an inspiring arts journey. Each path can take a different direction – from fashion to film-making, from dance to design, from photography to poetry. Whichever route they choose to follow, young people are always in the driving seat. This is how can it work in a school - but it can also be applied in other educational settings.
Artsmark has helped schools across the East Midlands inspire learning through the arts, improving school standards and developing teachers and curriculum. It has helped schools in cities, in rural locations, primary, secondary and special. Opposite is how it helped an Inner City in Nottingham.
Emerge is arts festival model which is commissioned and delivered by young people across multiple sites on the same day. We have run Emerge Festivals over the last three years and we have plans to deliver two more Emerge Festival days in 2018 and 2019 in 12 Midland locations.
Emerge Festivals are entirely shaped by young people. Over the past three years, Emerge Festivals have been directed by up and coming young artists, given decision making agency to over 30 young people and its content designed and delivered by almost 400 young people with 5500 people involved at Emerge festival events. The film opposite is a montage of the festivals put on in Corby and Wolverhampton in 2017.
In 2013 The Mighty Creatives launched an investment programme to establish joined up strategic planning and development of the arts and cultural offer for schools in Derby, Leicester and Nottingham - a precursor to Cultural Education Partnerships we are working with now. An evaluation of this programme is available and in this film our artist Anthony Greentree brings to life this ‘local learning’ in partnership with Derby Theatre, The Spark Arts for Children and New Art Exchange.
Our summits, conferences and training brings our expertise, learning and networks to bear on the cultural education challenge. It is here where the many can come together to rise to this challenge and provide every child and every young person with an outstanding cultural education.
