be might be creative awards (POSTPONED)

Metronome, Nottingham – 26th March, 2020

the awards night

We are pleased to announce the third Be Mighty Be Creative Awards, an annual event hosted by The Mighty Creatives!

The special awards event will be held on Thursday 26th March 2020. The evening will begin at 18:00 with a drinks reception and culminate with the Be Mighty Be Creative Awards presentations finishing at 20:00, as a celebration of the work we exist to support, awards will be presented across 10 categories.

In addition to the Awards ceremony itself, the evening’s entertainment will include a live performance by emerging artists and producers supported by The Mighty Creatives. Our guest speaker, to be announced in the new year, will be on hand to inspire us all. During the event we will share insights and discuss the value of creativity and culture in the lives of children and young people in the region.

The night itself will provide a great opportunity to bring together the cultural, education and business sectors to meet, share and support the endeavours of the children’s workforce and celebrate children and young people as the next generation of talented creative leaders and producers. We hope all sectors will show support by attending, sponsoring and donating to our annual Be Mighty Be Creative Campaign to continue this unrivalled and valuable cultural offer for children and young people across the East Midlands.

This year the Be Mighty Be Creative Awards will take the form of a simple two-stage application process:

stage 1

Nominations are invited online by completing a short form and 350-word statement detailing why the panel should consider a nominee for the award category selected.

The Mighty Creative Awards assessment panel will be looking for a clear description of why you are making your nomination. You will be required to answer the following key information on a short form that will form criteria for shortlisting stage one nominations. Nominations will require details on:

  • the organisation/ individual name of the nominee.
  • location and address.
  • lead contact details including telephone and email.
  • award category selected.
  • summary statement, making clear and direct reference to the award (350-word limit).

We request that applicants making a nomination on behalf of another must inform the individual or organisation of the nomination. A short film submission from the nominee will be required should they be shortlisted for the final panel and stage two of the awards process.

stage 2

Nominees that are shortlisted will be invited to submit a second stage application from which the panel will select the finalists and winners for each category. Entries will require nominees to create a short 3-minute film to present their case to the panel.

The film footage can be simply captured on a smart phone or tablet device. The panel will assess the content and not on quality or artistic production of the films submitted. A how to guide will be provided to nominees with a brief including prompts and questions to support the creation of the film.
