In the East Midlands, children and young people with learning disabilities are struggling to find opportunities for them and their families to experience exceptional arts and a lack of job opportunities for disabled artists means creative opportunities are limited.
The perceptions of what children and young people with learning disabilities can achieve artistically, are quite often limited by ill-informed beliefs, so we're doing something about that in the East Midlands. We will be shaking the region up with Splash! - a new participatory arts programme held around the waterways of the region, led by Diverse City with the UK’s professional integrated circus company Extraordinary Bodies. We've been making waves for better inclusion and representation for arts organisations, schools, businesses and families across the region over the last year and we want to get you on board for the next year.
There are 3 levels, please pick a level you feel would be the best fit for your staff and students:
Splash! School Level 1 - Access to Splash! School resources and support.
Splash! School Level 2 - Access to Splash! School resources and support, attending/hosting workshops with the Splash! artists, arranged by the local coordinating venue.
Splash! School Level 3 - Access to Splash! School resources and support, attending/hosting workshops with the Splash! artists, arranged by the local coordinating venue and a Splash! Artist in Residence is arranged for your school.
